My high school drama teacher was re-diagnosed with melanoma at the end of 2018 and given months to live. Unfortunately, the only treatment available was a hugely expensive, pioneering drug. To combat the cost, I created and directed a show known as The Made By Kate show which brought back ex-pupils in a variety show of past musical numbers, sketches and performances. It raised $35,000 and funded 3 1/2 months of treatment. I held rehearsals, directed scenes, and organized the entire running of the event. |

Our final assessment in theatre 101 was to perform a 10 minute segment from The Cherry Orchard. I performed in the piece and was nominated as team director. We gained an A+ for the overall performance and I gained an A+ for individual performance. |
